IUI Treatment at Peacock Fertility Centre

What is IUI?

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm directly into a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilization. By increasing the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes, IUI enhances the chances of conception.

Who Can Benefit from IUI?

IUI is recommended for:

  • Couples experiencing unexplained infertility

  • Women with mild endometriosis

  • Men with mild sperm abnormalities

  • Couples facing male factor infertility

  • Women with cervical mucus issues

  • Couples using donor sperm

The IUI Process

Who Can Benefit from IUI?

  1. Consultation and Assessment:

    • Comprehensive evaluation of both partners

    • Detailed medical history and physical examination

    • Diagnostic tests, including semen analysis, hormonal evaluation, and ultrasound

  2. Ovarian Stimulation (if needed):

    • Medications to stimulate the ovaries and enhance egg production

    • Regular monitoring through ultrasound and blood tests to track follicle development

  3. Sperm Collection and Preparation:

    • Collection of sperm sample from the male partner or donor

    • Washing and preparation of the sperm to concentrate the healthiest sperm

  4. Insemination Procedure:

    • Timed with ovulation, typically within 24-36 hours after detecting a surge in luteinizing hormone (LH)

    • A thin catheter is inserted through the cervix to place the prepared sperm directly into the uterus

    • The procedure is quick, usually painless, and performed in our clinic

  5. Post-Insemination Care:

    • Guidelines for post-procedure activities
